URGENT APPEAL
To come to the aid of victims of the devastating tsunami
which occurred in a number of Asian countries
just prior to the New Year.

As Armenians, we know the devastation of disaster, both natural (the 1988 earthquake in Armenia) and government-ordered (the 1915 Armenian Genocide).

Therefore, we also know the humanity and healing power of relief efforts which helped people stand again and move forward with even greater determination and strength.

It is now our turn to help those in need, just as we did in the aftermath of the terrible events of September 11, when our community donated over $12,000 in response to the ARS Eastern USA's appeal for relief for the victims of September 11.

The ARS Eastern USA has opened a Tsunami Relief Fund. All donations should be made payable to the ARS Eastern USA and marked for "tsunami relief." All donations will be transmitted to the International Red Cross which is providing humanitarian relief in devastated areas.

The ARS Eastern USA will accompany the donation check to the International Red Cross with a full list of individual donors so that the International Red Cross will know the scope of the Armenian community's assistance.
