ARS Eastern USA Announces Scholarship Opportunities
Undergraduate
and graduate students of Armenian descent are invited to apply for the
Armenian Relief Society Eastern USA’s 2005 scholarships.
Undergraduate students may apply for the Society’s
Undergraduate scholarship awards and graduate students may apply for the
Society’s Lazarian graduate scholarship.
Last
year, the ARS Eastern USA awarded a total of $25,000 in scholarships to
16 students.
Separate
graduate and undergraduate scholarship committees appointed by the ARS
Board of Regional Directors evaluate all scholarship applications and
recommend scholarship award recipients.
Scholarships are awarded based on merit, financial need, and
Armenian community involvement. Undergraduate
and graduate scholarship applicants must be of Armenian descent.
Undergraduate applicants must be enrolled in an accredited
four-year college or university in the United States. Incomplete
scholarship applications are not considered for any type of scholarship
and students are solely responsible for ensuring that their scholarship
file is complete.
These
scholarship awards would not be possible without the generous donations
of many benefactors to the ARS Educational Fund for undergraduate
students and the ARS George and Beatrice Lazarian Graduate Scholarship
Fund for graduate students. These
restricted funds were established to provide the necessary financial
resources to help the ARS Eastern USA help deserving Armenian
undergraduate and graduate students pursue a brighter future for
themselves to the benefit of the entire Armenian community.
Applications
may be downloaded from the SCHOLARSHIP page of this web site or may be
requested by contacting the ARS Regional office at 80 Bigelow Ave.,
Suite 200, Watertown, MA 02472;
(617) 926-3801; arseastus@aol.com.
All applications are due on
April 1, 2005.
